    Mario G Brum II, Principal Cloud Architect

  • Mario has been in the IT industry for well over 25 years and possesses vast knowledge in business centric IT solutions. After running his own successful IT consulting firm for over 6 years and developing his own unique electronic documentation methodology, he has since worked for organizations such as US Air Force, INS and Lucent Technologies as a Lead/Sr. Systems Engineer/Consultant, GreenPages Technology Solutions as their Sr. Consultant of Enterprise Solutions, SimpliVIty as the Corporate Solution Architect promoted to Director of Solutions Architects and more recently Principal Architect at Cloudyn.

  • His background includes designing, implementing and managing data management and HyperConverged solutions such as, SimpliVity,Networked Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), both iSCSI and Fibre Channel, data backup/restore, Continuous Data Protection (CDP), capacity optimization (CO) , File and Storage virtualization and Disaster Recovery solutions. Exposure to these technologies have given Mario experience and certifications in a range of products such as, VMware, Hitachi, Data Domain, EMC, HP, IBM, StorageTek, Quantum, Xiotech, Isilon, EqualLogic, CommVault, InMage, CA XOsoft, Symantec Net BackUp, Enterprise Vault, NSI, Brocade, Cisco, F5 , Microsoft, and many others. There are new emerging technologies that he continues to research to help enhance his knowledge in this space.

    • The cyber threat landscape has morphed beyond the mere nuisance of viruses, malware, & exploits. The threats of 2016 serve up a truly noxious cocktail, tainted by the likes of Guucifer & nation states. Come and be educated. As the saying goes, "Luck favors the prepared!".

    Michael Thomas Clark

    • Mike is a 30 year IT veteran. He has worked in a wide range of enterprise computing environments, first in infrastructure operations, engineering, and application delivery; and later in IT strategy, systems architecture, and complex program management.
    • Mike began his career in network and server platform engineering at Bausch & Lomb, where he managed his first data center and was instrumental in developing B&L's global network infrastructure. Subsequently, at Fidelity Investments, he managed desktop and server operations for 25,000 internal customers across multiple business units. There, in the aftermath of 9/11,
    • Mike oversaw the recovery of Fidelity's New York City brokerage clearinghouse operation. He then moved from Operations to Enterprise Architecture and focused on leading multiple enterprise-wide platform infrastructure initiatives, including managing a successful effort to develop a unified server strategy for the firm.
    • For the past 6 years, Mike has engaged in global professional services activities. As a Partner at Exceptional Leaders International, his focus is on working with middle-market companies to help them synchronize their technology strategies with their business imperatives. Recent engagements have included developing and implementing strategies for U.S.-based companies to expand their global operations through advanced network design and implementing both private and hybrid cloud-based SaaS application environments. Mike received his undergraduate degree in Canada, at The University of Western Ontario. He has since done graduate work at both Brandeis and Harvard and has taught in the graduate IT program at Harvard’s School of Continuing Education. He recently completed MIT’s certificate program in “Big Data and Social Analytics.”
    • Mike is also an active member of the Open Networking User Group, aka “ONUG,” and served as lead author of their recent “Security Services Working Group” white paper – in which ONUG worked with the end-user community to develop a set of open requirements to help guide vendors toward a more secure and interoperable next generation of networking products and platforms.
