Turn Your Desktop Challenges into VDI Best Practices.

VDI has gotten a bad rap for being too complex, too costly and too resource intensive to be worth the effort. But all that has changed w/ a new generation of VDI -- solutions that provide unified monitoring and management of desktops across online, offline and branch environments; high-definition multimedia support; automatic bi-directional sync for true mobility; and advanced cloud branch capabilities including disaster recovery and business continuity.
In this session, we'll review the key challenges, solution options and customer reference deployments that highlight how the right form factor for on-premises, hosted and federated deployment can deliver an unparalleled virtual desktop user experience.
Key topics to be addressed will include:
For Admins
·         Server allocation -- the amount and type of servers needed to ensure a good user experience
·         Storage allocation -- capacity of storage, type of storage, number of spindles or drives and network I/O
·         Network considerations -- bandwidth and latency for LANs and WANs
·         Desktop configurations - static or stateful desktops vs dynamic desktops
·         Physical resource distribution - distributed enterprise with many branches
For Users
·         Display protocols and the user experience
·         Personalization
·         Choice of end-user devices: thin clients, Mac/PCs, Linux, iPad
·         Offline or mobile experience
·         Choice of desktops - Windows, Linux
